About Me
My name is Yasmina Ketita and I'm a columnist, writer, series host, podcaster, commentator, VHS fiend and '80s enthusiast.
In 2016, I formed Witch Finger Horror Podcast with a couple of gals where we drank and watched '80s/'90s horror movies. In 2019, I began writing a column on Rue Morgue.com called The Rewind Zone which was later turned into a web series on Rue Morgue TV that focuses on lesser talked about '80s/'90s horror films. I also conduct interviews for Rue Morgue.com with filmmakers, actors, horror creators and write reviews for events such as VHS Fest.
I'm a collaborator for Terror Vision Records & Video and have written essays for Blu-ray booklets as well as recorded commentaries. Films that I've contributed to include Rumpelstiltskin, Revenge of the Radioactive Reporter, Sledgehammer and Dance or Die. You can also find my Rewind Zone episode in the special features of the Nail Gun Massacre Blu-ray.
I'm a programmer at the Paradise Theatre in Toronto, ON. The Rewind Zone is a quarterly series that screens '80s and '90s horror movies that are praised for their low budget schlock. Films that I've programmed include Hack-o-Lantern, Black Roses, Demon Wind, Boardinghouse and Killing Spree.
I've dedicated this space to write about films outside of the horror genre. As an avid movie lover, I wanted to highlight films I'm passionate about in hopes of creating more awareness and deserved recognition. This blog will also contain writings on characters in film and series I relate to as well as people that inspire me.
